Saratoga and Miracle Beach Residents' Association

SAMBRA is a community society formed to facilitate communication between the Comox Valley Regional District and members of our community by monitoring and promoting understanding, adherence to, and support of our Local Area Plan and relevant laws and regulations.

Invitation to Community Open House

You are invited to a Community Open House for Electoral Area C at the Merville Community Hall on August 14th at 5:00 pm. This event is intended to help improve our community's understanding about the Comox Valley Regional District, its services and current initiatives. It's also a great opportunity for me to receive feedback and learn more about the concerns and priorities of the residents in my area.

This event will highlight five different topics—CVRD Services, the FireSmart program, Merville Fire Protection Services, the Comprehensive Rural Bylaw Review and tips for taking care of your septic system. Subject experts will be there to answer questions and hand out information.

Please help by sharing the details below with your "Area C" friends and contacts (Area C includes Black Creek, Dove Creek, Merville, Forbidden Plateau, and Mount Washington). The CVRD has also Facebook Event (link HERE), so if you are a social media user, please feel free to pass along or share the event to any appropriate community pages or groups.

Thank you for helping me spread the word about this event and I look forward to seeing you there!

Regional Growth Strategy

The Regional Growth Strategy (RGS) for the Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD) was submited to the Provincial Government on December 31, 2010. The broad scope of the RGS will be focused through the CVRD Official Community Plan (OCP), and refined into governance for future development in the Saratoga and Miracle Beach Local Area Plan (LAP). The CVRD, with the public's consultation, will be involved in this revision process during the next 20 - 24 months.

Local Area Plan (LAP). SAMBRA has formed a subcommittee to encourage participation by a balance cross-section of local area residents in the Comox Valley Regional District's consultation into issues related to the Local Area Plan. Click here to find details and links to information about the Local Area Plan revision process.
The latest version of the LAP specific to the SAMBRA area can be found here.

When held, SAMBRA meetings take place at the Oyster River Fire Hall, 2214 Catherwood Road, from 7:00-8:30 PM, on the second Tuesday of the month.
Next Meeting: To be announced.
